Berat and Tirana Photos

Imagine southern Italy without tourists, Catholocism and cheesy tourist traps. Add in a splash of historical communism, and welcome to Albania. Here are a few more scenes from the country. Some are from the capital Tirana, and more are from the historic town of Berat, known as the town of one thousand windows (although it should be known as the town of one thousand cafes). It’s nice.

Northern Albania: Shkodër and Koman Lake

In Southern Europe, there's a place where people are relaxed, the weather is warm (albeit too warm sometimes), tomatoes are delicious, green rolling hills line the landscape, and espresso can be found on every street corner. No, this is not Italy. In fact, it's just a fraction of the price and nearly void of tourists. Friends, welcome to Albania! Here are some pictures of the north of the country, primarily the town Shkodër and Koman Lake. Please enjoy.
